Son Heung-min could be Tottenham Hotspur’s most important player against Borussia Dortmund, not Harry Kane.

If rumours are believed, Tottenham Hotspur could have Harry Kane fit for next week’s Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund.
Kane was originally ruled out until March with an ankle injury but, according to The Sun, Spurs’ medical team are ‘optimistic’ that the 25-year-old striker will shrug off his fitness concerns to make the first leg next Wednesday.
If true, it could be a huge boost for Tottenham. If not, Mauricio Pochettino already has a player who can seriously damage Lucien Favre’s side: Son Heung-min.
Son, with nine goals in his last 10 games for the North Londoners, is a danger to the Germans anyway, but the fact that he specialises in scoring against Dortmund is a big reason as to why Spurs’ hopes don’t hinge on Kane’s fitness.
The former Bayer Leverkusen attacker has scored eight goals in nine games against the German giants [Transfermarkt], winning six games against them overall.
More specifically, Son has netted three goals in four Tottenham games against the Bundesliga leaders – three wins and one defeat.
Kane is obviously a massive player for the Lilywhites, but when you consider his form and his record against Dortmund, Son might be more influential than him in this tie, irrespective of his fitness.
