Tottenham Hotspur came up against a familiar face in the form of Kyle Walker-Peters on Sunday.
Spurs romped to a 5-2 win away to Southampton and their former defender started and finished the game.
Walker-Peters began his career at Tottenham before being sold for £12 million during the summer, after impressing for the Saints on a half-season loan last term.
The 23-year-old set up a goal for Danny Ings during an otherwise decent – but far from perfect – individual performance.
Here’s how Tottenham fans reacted to his display against Jose Mourinho’s side.
It was a decent display by Walker-Peters but, if we’re honest, the Lilywhites won’t miss him all that much.
If we’re even more honest, picking up £12 million for a fringe player, which he was, was a cracking piece of business by Daniel Levy.
In fact, the £15 million addition of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg realistically only cost Spurs some £3 million because of the money that came in from Walker-Peters.
Levy has had a wonderful summer of transfer business – not least for convincing Real Madrid to let him have Gareth Bale back – but there’s been some savvy sales too – and Walker-Peters epitomises that.
