Son-Heung Min has been in excellent form at Tottenham of late.
Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-Min has told the club’s official website that he wants to be more like Harry Kane despite hitting a sensational run of form himself.
The 25-year-old attacker has scored three goals in his last four Premier League outings, as well as adding three assists in that time which has coincided with Spurs’ excellent form – taking 13 points from a possible 15.
In total this season, Son has continued his strong form from the 2016-17 campaign to score 11 goals in just 30 league and cup outings from his position on the wing, also showing a creative side to his game by creating six strikes.
However, the 61-time South Korea international said he wants to be more like Tottenham’s 24-year-old talisman, as Kane continues to break Premier League records for fun.
“I hope it gets better than now,” Son said on his form. “I just want to try. I don’t want to think about it too much. I want to enjoy this moment. Of course, I want more, like Harry Kane.
“He beats every record and I want to beat every record as well. I enjoy playing for Spurs and trying to help my team-mates and show performances for the fans. Without their support or my team-mates, nothing is happening.
“I want to try to be a top player.”
Tottenham’s number seven has become just as crucial as the likes of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Kane himself as he continues to provide the creativity from attacking midfield as well as offering another source of goals.
He is expected to start against Southampton on Sunday afternoon as Spurs travel south to face Mauricio Pellegrino’s side, who themselves are in a shocking run of form – without a Premier League win in 10.
