Paul Merson has suggested on Sky Sports News (1:53pm, September 18, 2021) that Nuno’s Tottenham Hotspur could win against Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea today if Son Heung-min is fit.
Tottenham will take on Chelsea at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the London derby in a few hours’ time.
Former Arsenal star Merson believes that Chelsea are the favourites heading into the Premier League game.
However, Merson thinks that if South Korea international forward Son is available for the game, then Spurs have a chance.
Son suffered a calf injury while on international duty with South Korea and did not play for Tottenham against Crystal Palace and Rennes, as reported by Football.London.
Merson said on Sky Sports News (1:53pm, September 18, 2021): “I think they (Tottenham) are in trouble this weekend, unless Son’s fit.
“If he is fit, it’s a completely and utterly different game, and I mean that. All of a sudden, him and Kane can win a game.”
The Sky Sports pundit added: “Nuno, 70% of his football matches since he has been over in his country, at Wolves and Tottenham, his team have failed to score in the first half.”

Who will win Tottenham v Chelsea?
Chelsea are in better form and also have a superior squad.
Romelu Lukaku is scoring goals, while Harry Kane is struggling.
However, Tottenham will have home advantage for today’s London derby.
It remains to be seen if Son is fit for the match.

The 29-year-old – who cost Spurs £22 million in transfer fees in the summer of 2015, according to The Guardian – scores goals, creates chances and has a strong understanding with Kane on the pitch.
If Son is fit and starts the London derby along with Kane, then Chelsea will have a tough time defensively.
Son has scored two goals in three Premier League appearances so far this season, and scored 17 goals and provided 10 assists in the league in 2020-21.
