The 2023/24 Premier League season has drawn to a close on Tottenham Hotspur.
From having a new captain in Son Heung-min, losing Harry Kane, to Arsenal wanting their help in trying to win the title.
No one can argue that it hasn’t been another eventful campaign for Tottenham because, one thing is for sure, the entertainment value is back, both on and off the pitch.
At the end of it all, Ange Postecoglou helped progress the club, from returning to Europe to a more eye-catching style of play as the team finished fifth in the Premier League.
There were many top performers over the course of the campaign. Micky van de Ven was outstanding at the back, to the emergence of Destiny Udogie and the goals from Son himself.
Another man who can add his name to that list is all-action right-back, Pedro Porro.
You could even argue that some were putting the 24-year-old in their Premier League Team of the Season and he was deserving of it.
But the team Porro wanted to be in the most was the Spain squad for Euro 2024, but he has been brutally snubbed by recently-appointed manager, Luis de la Fuente.
When the news broke, he took to Instagram to express his sadness at this exclusion and how he was ‘very excited’ at the prospect of being picked.
In the comment section of his IG post, he was supported by his teammates and the fans, with Son gutted for the player and simply writing ‘You are the best’, whilst Cristian Romero wrote that it’s simply ‘unbelievable’.
Pedro Porro misses out on Spain squad for Euro 2024
“I was very excited about the possibility of being able to represent my country in the Euros, but in the end, it won’t be possible this year,” wrote Porro.
“Respect and admiration for all of the players who will be defending our colours. From here I will be supporting the team hoping we have great joy. Come on guys.”
A boost for Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou
Of course, Spurs would want all of their players repping their nations on football’s biggest stage.
But they need to see the positives from this and that’s Porro will be rested up ahead of the new season where the team returns to Europe.

Porro is expected to play a key role in trying to win a trophy for the club and also get the club back into the Champions League after missing out this term.
Not only that, Porro also avoids injury and you know he will be ready for pre-season. But will he be the only Spurs player snubbed because James Maddison is also touch and go after Gareth Southgate named his England training squad ahead of Euro 2024?!
