Son Heung-min became the joint-leading South Korean scorer in Premier League history with his goal in Tottenham Hotspur’s 4-1 thrashing of Liverpool yesterday.

The 25-year-old opened his account for the season with the second goal in Tottenham’s triumph at Wembley, and his 19th in the English top flight since joining from Bayer Leverkusen two years ago.

That strike took him level with former Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung.

Park’s 19 goals came from 153 appearances for United and Queens Park Rangers. Son has reached his total from only 70 appearances, 30 of which have come as a substitute.

Son’s first Premier League goal came against Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane in September 2015.

He managed only four in his debut campaign at Tottenham but contributed an impressive tally of 14 in 2016-17.
