Son Heung-min played well for Tottenham Hotspur this past season.

Vincent Janssen endured a hugely frustrating and disappointing campaign on a personal level in 2016-17, and many Tottenham Hotspur fans will want manager Mauricio Pochettino to sign a striker.
After all, Harry Kane may have done it for the past three seasons, but if Spurs are to launch yet another challenge for the Premier League title and progress to the knockout rounds of the Champions League next season, then they will need a suitable back-up.

While signing Moussa Dembele from Celtic or Patrik Schick from Sampdoria would be a good idea, they would cost quite a bit in transfer fees. Tottenham could save that money by simply investing more faith in and giving more responsibility to Son Heung-min.
The 24-year-old can operate as a forward or as a winger. Given the level of competition for a place in Tottenham’s first team, it will be hard for Son to play regularly next season, but as he showed this past campaign, if he is given the right amount of playing time and is played to his strengths, then he could score very important goals consistently.

The South Korea international scored 14 goals and provided six assists in 23 Premier League starts for Tottenham this season. Some of Son’s goals were superb; his movement and runs were key in Spurs winning many a league fixture.
Son may not be an out-and-out striker in the mould of Kane or Janssen, but the former Bayer Leverkusen star showed this past season that he can contribute with goals. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy could save some good money in the summer if manager Pochettino maintains his faith in Son.
