Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min has praised Brennan Johnson after the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Tottenham recorded another home win on Saturday afternoon but, once again, did it the hard way.

Palace took the lead with Eberechi Eze‘s firing a superb free kick past Guglielmo Vicario in the Spurs goal.

Tottenham had to hit back and did so with Timo Werner finding his first goal for the club.

Cristian Romero then put Spurs 2-1 up before captain Son Heung-min raced clear to make it 3-1, securing all three points.

Tottenham were struggling to break Palace down but the introduction of Brennan Johnson seemed to the change the game…

Welshman Johnson came off the bench to replace Rodrigo Bentancur, meaning Dejan Kulusevski moved into midfield.

Johnson hassled and dispossessed Joachim Andersen, broke through two challenges and then teed up Werner to score.

Johnson then forced the ball through for Son to find the net, giving him two assists in just about 30 minutes of action.

A big signing from Nottingham Forest, Johnson has blown hot and cold so far this season.

We know how good Johnson can be though and this kind of game-changing impact is just what Tottenham needed to see.

Captain Son has now told Football London that he absolutely loves Johnson and really wants to help him improve his game.

Son felt that Johnson would ‘make the difference’ against Palace and was proven right, before offering a prediction.

Son believes that Johnson is ‘definitely’ about to start finding the net regularly with the Tottenham skipper believing that goals are just around the corner.

“You know I like this guy. I love this guy,” said Son. “I just want to help him as much as I can. Even when we start the game, I just told him, ‘just make sure you’re ready, you’ll make the difference. When you come on, you’ll make the difference’ and that’s what we need,” he said.

“Brennan did a fantastic job and I just want to give him a big, big hug. The goals obviously he is missing but I am definitely sure, the way he works, working like this, the goals will come automatically, I am 100 per cent sure,” he added.

Johnson has only bagged three Premier League goals for Tottenham this season but six assists isn’t a bad record.

The 22-year-old clearly has Son’s backing and that should give him bags of confidence, as should Saturday’s superb cameo.
