Tottenham Hotspur winger Son Heung-min has told the club’s official website that he was scared of midfielder Victor Wanyama having faced him in 2014.
Son enjoyed a superb season with Tottenham, bagging 21 goals and six assists in all competitions, a huge improvement on his first season at White Hart Lane.
Bad news has struck for the 24-year-old winger though, as he has suffered a broken arm on international duty with South Korea, which could now rule him out for the start of the new Premier League season.
Spurs will want Son back as quickly as possible, as whilst the likes of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane grabbed the headlines, Son was something of an unsung hero at times.
Another player to fit that description is midfielder Victor Wanyama, who was dominant in his first season with Spurs having joined the club from Southampton last summer.

Signed by Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino in 2013, the pair reunited last summer, and Wanyama enjoyed an outstanding campaign protecting the Spurs back four.
Now, winger Son has told the Tottenham official website that he was ‘scared’ to play against Wanyama having faced him in a friendly between Southampton and Bayer Leverkusen in 2014.

Son added that he enjoys watching Wanyama play, and felt the Kenyan star was ‘very important’ last season as Tottenham finished second in the Premier League table.
“I was really a fan of Victor when he signed because when I was with Leverkusen and I played against Southampton, I saw him for the first time and he was a beast – I was scared to play against him!” said Son.
“When he signed, everyone knew what he could do from when he played for Southampton and I enjoy watching him play. I think he’s done very well for us and he was very important during the season,” he added.
