Paul Merson has said on Sky Sports News (12:25pm, September 11, 2021) that he is a big fan of Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min.
The former Arsenal star has said that Son is a quality footballer who does not rely on his Tottenham teammate Harry Kane to make things happen.
The Sky Sports pundit has added that the 29-year-old South Korea international – who cost Spurs £22 million in transfer fees in the summer of 2015, according to The Guardian – is a big-game player.
Son missed Tottenham’s defeat to Crystal Palace in the Premier League this past weekend due to injury.
Merson said about Son on Sky Sports News (12:25pm, September 11, 2021): “He is a big player. I am a massive fan of Son.
“He is a big-game player, he is a big big-game player. He doesn’t wait for Harry Kane to do something.”

Big player for Tottenham Hotspur
Kane is a world-class striker and is arguably the best player at Tottenham.
However, Son’s importance in the team cannot be undermined.
The South Korea international arrived at Spurs as a winger, but he now plays as a forward and has become an important source of goals.
When Son does not play, like he did not against Palace, Spurs miss him.

Son has scored 72 goals in 200 Premier League appearances so far in his career.
The Tottenham no.7 scored 17 goals and gave 10 assists in the Premier League last season.
The 29-year-old has also found the back of the net twice in three league games this season.
