Son Heung-min has defended his manager Antonio Conte after Tottenham suffered a frustrating defeat to Southampton in North London on Wednesday night. That is, despite Spurs leading 2-1 on 70 minutes.
Spurs came into the match in good form, buoyant after a solid win over Brighton in the FA Cup. They took the lead through an own goal from Jan Bednarek, only for Armando Broja to net an equaliser with a header.

“We are so pleased he (Antonio Conte) is giving us so much positive vibes and energy and a winning mentality. If we lose, players should take responsibility. We have to bring back on Sunday where we should be.”

The absence of Eric Dier was not absent against Brighton, but Broja was dominant against Cristian Romero. The Argentine was used in the middle of the defence but he failed to produce the same level he did on Sunday.
Southampton took advantage of Tottenham’s struggles to defend crosses with Dier missing. In terms of tactics, Conte got it spot on. Spurs dominated possession and had the most chances – but simply could not defend.
