Speaking on his podcast, David Seaman has been speaking about the pairing of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison at Everton.
Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison are two tremendously talented footballers. After all, they’re regulars for England and Brazil respectively. However, they’ve both struggled this season.
Seaman has noticed that the pair aren’t working well together, claiming that they don’t even seem to be talking to each other on the pitch, contrasting their relationship with Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane’s.
What’s been said?
Seaman gave his verdict on this pairing.
“You look at Kane and Son and then Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison. That pairing they just don’t seem to be talking to each other, I don’t know if something’s going on there, but it looks a strange combo and they don’t seem to be working together. Look at Kane and Son and they know exactly what to do,” Seaman said.

Difficult
Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison aren’t working well together, but to be honest, it’s hard to blame them.
The pair have both suffered with injuries this season, and the last time they got a proper sustained run in the team together, Carlo Ancelotti was the manager. Since then, they’ve had to try and learn how to play under both Rafa Benitez and Frank Lampard, and that’s, understandably, caused a fair bit of confusion.
As Seaman says, we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes, but with so many injuries and managerial changes, we can understand why this strike partnership isn’t the most cohesive.
