The Tottenham Hotspur boss has had better weeks, it’s fair to say.

Paul Merson has admitted that he was ‘shocked’ to hear Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino use the word ‘rebuild’ after their embarrassing League Cup defeat in midweek.
Spurs were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by League Two side Colchester United on penalties, increasing the pressure on Pochettino whose side are 10 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool already.
Speaking after the game, the Tottenham manager hinted on January reinforcements and said: “We need time again to build that togetherness that you need when you are competing at this level.”
Pochettino went on to claim that some of his players had ‘different agendas’ and here’s how Merson reacted to the comments on Sky Sports News [28/09/2019]: “That shocked me.
“There’s something going on there that we don’t know. There’s definitely something going on.
“It seems like there’s a divide. I don’t know what it is, but at the moment, I worry for Tottenham.”
According to The Sun, Tottenham players were ‘furious’ with the South American for what he said after losing to Colchester.
That being said, the North Londoners went on to beat Southampton yesterday after Merson’s comments, despite having 10 men for more than half the game.
That indicates that Pochettino hasn’t quite lost the dressing room for now.
