Jamie Carragher has spotted a lingering rift between James Milner and Virgil van Dijk throughout Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat at Manchester United this evening.
Jadon Sancho fired the Red Devils ahead on 16 minutes.

Seconds later, television cameras appeared to illustrate Milner having a go at his Liverpool teammate.
Both were complicit in the concession – along with Trent Alexander-Arnold – but the towering Reds defender certainly bore the brunt of the criticism, going by Milner’s actions.
However, Carragher has revealed on Sky Sports that the bickering continued well into the second half, too.
He said live on Sky Sports: “Something’s going on with Milner and Van Dijk. They’ve been at each other for the past 15 minutes. Milner wasn’t happy with Van Dijk for the first goal and they’re still having a go.”

Marcus Rashford doubled Manchester United’s advantage in the second half as Erik ten Hag appeared to be closing in on his first victory as Red Devils boss.
It was a horrendous Liverpool performance, not helped by their most experienced players on separate wavelengths.
However, Mohamed Salah reduced the deficit to only one with eight minutes remaining in normal time, but the hosts – hammered 4-0 by Brentford last week – held out for a massive victory.
An inquest will no doubt go into the visitors’ performance but, leaving aside the on-the-field bickering, nobody from the Anfield outfit really covered themselves in glory tonight.
And with two points from a possible nine, well there’s so much for Liverpool manager Klopp to ponder now.
