Thierry Henry has given his backing to Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.
The 25-year-old Gers star was allegedly subjected to racist abuse in the Europa League last month.
According to Sky Sports, Slavia Prague’s Ondrej Kudela is being investigated by Police Scotland and the Czech club denies the claim made by Rangers.
The former Arsenal youth and light Blues’ team-mate Bongani Zungu were visibly angry with Kudela.
Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson told Sky Sports News it was clear to him that ‘something horrific’ had been directed at Kamara.
Kamara began his career at Arsenal and briefly trained with club legend Henry at London Colney.
And here’s what the Frenchman – who boycotted social media platforms last week – said to The Robbie Fowler podcast about the incident.
He said: “If you take what happened with Glen Kamara the other day – and I actually ‘trained’ a bit with Kamara because I was with Arsenal there, so I came across him. The guy is a lovely man. That was out of character, his reaction. Something must have been said.”
Slavia wound up beating Rangers and ironically, the Czech outfit will face Arsenal in the last eight of the competition.
But it remains to be seen if Kudela – a 34-year-old Czech Republic international – will be available to face the Gunners over both legs amid this investigation.
