Glenn Hoddle has claimed that ‘something has gone on’ between Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp after the Liverpool forward was benched against Chelsea on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool recorded a goalless draw against their struggling Premier League rivals, with Mohamed Salah coming off the bench during the game and failing to make an impact for his morale-sapped team.

Former England playmaker Hoddle was ‘surprised’ by that call from Jurgen Klopp and he claimed that the player looked ‘very disgruntled’ and ‘unhappy’ from the weekend against Manchester City.

It needs to be noted that Salah wasn’t the only big name benched for Chelsea, Andy Robertson also received the same treatment, as well as Cody Gakpo, whilst Trent Alexander-Arnold didn’t even come off the bench in West London.

Either way, was Klopp sending out a message to his struggling players? Or was he resting them for the tougher test of Premier League leaders Arsenal on Sunday?

Well, Hoddle thinks that there seems to be an issue with Klopp and his star man on the right, as he told Premier League Productions (04/04/23 at 7:05 pm).

“There were always going to be changes, but I didn’t think there would be as many as that,” said Hoddle.

“Salah is a surprise, to me. He looked very disgruntled and unhappy at the weekend when he come off. Something might have gone on there (with Klopp).

SALAH SHOULD START AGAINST ARSENAL

Only probably Alisson Becker can hold his head up high when it comes to Liverpool players this season.

Other than that, the rest have been shocking, whilst Salah has lacked that bite and attacking quality to his game throughout the campaign.

It has been a season to forget for the player, but still, he has 12 Premier League goals to his name and 23 from 43 in all competitions.
