Southampton fans have reacted on Twitter to Aston Villa seemingly wanting to buy James Ward-Prowse.
After Villa agreed to sign Emi Buendia, as confirmed by the club’s official Twitter account.
It seems as though those Villa’s Sporting director, Johan Lange, is now set to make his next big move.
The Guardian claim that Villa are preparing to launch an ambitious move for Ward-Prowse this summer.
It is said that Villa want a new midfielder and think he has the skill set, especially in set-pieces to don their colours.
But Southampton fans are having none of it.
Ward-Prowse is their star man and has played every minute for them in the Premier League during these past two seasons.
Given that he has come through the academy, it will seemingly take a lot to lure him towards their direction.
Ward-Prowse will have a football-free summer after he wasn’t selected in England’s 26-man squad for the Euros.
But with Jack Grealish being the most fouled player for the past two seasons in the Premier League.
Adding Ward-Prowse’s dead-ball qualities into the mix would make them a seriously dangerous team.
But Southampton fans cannot see such a deal happening unless serious money is put on the table.
