Aaron Ramsdale has been speaking about some of his Arsenal teammates on the club’s official website, including Ben White and Gabriel Magalhães.

What’s the story?

Well, Ramsdale admitted that there’s a “weird dynamic” between the pair, and expressed some confusion at how they’re able to operate so well alongside each other.

The £30m man said: “Yeah, I enjoy working with them every day and playing with them every weekend. They both love defending, love making tackles and blocking shots so it’s always easier for me when that happens because I have less to do.

“It’s a weird dynamic between them because Gabriel’s learning English but somehow they have really good communication on the pitch, and there’s a good dynamic between the three of us as well.”

It must be strange to have a centre-back partner who doesn’t speak the same language as you, but White and Gabriel are coping admirably.

In fact, you wouldn’t have even thought there was a language barrier, judging by how well the pair have played this season.

Since White’s £50m move from Brighton, the Gunners have kept nine clean sheets in the Premier League this season.

Only Liverpool and Manchester City have recorded more shutouts, so whatever White and Gabriel are doing is working very well.

Of course, Ramsdale is also a huge part of that – his commanding nature, as well as his shot-stopping ability, is huge for Mikel Arteta.

Forget Ben White and Gabriel, Arsenal have an unsung hero

White and Ramsdale have obviously been huge players this season, although the signing of Takehiro Tomiyasu has gone under the radar.

The £16m capture from Bologna has shone at right-back this season, where his ambidexterity has caught the eye.

Tomiyasu can use both feet, which allows him to play balls down the line but also come inside using his left, opening up the game for Arsenal.

Additionally, the Japan international is surprisingly quick, and practically unbeatable in the air – he’s a huge part of Arteta’s system.

With Kieran Tierney on the other flank, Arsenal’s back five suddenly looks like one of the best in the Premier League – the recruitment has been superb.
