A number of Wigan Athletic fans have taken to Twitter to laud Antonee Robinson following the Everton loanee’s debut for the Latics that saw the Championship newbies beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-2 at the weekend.

However, the arrival of Lucas Digne left the path clear for the United States international to head back into the Championship, with Paul Cook bringing him to the DW Stadium ahead of Wigan’s return to the second tier.

And Robinson went straight into the side for the opening game of the campaign. It was a superb result for Wigan as they beat Wednesday 3-2, and Robinson certainly left a number of the supporters extremely excited about his potential.
