West Ham United are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Carlos Sanchez, but the fans are not happy.

Plenty of West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the reports emerging from the Daily Mirror this week which have suggested that the Hammers are considering a move for Fiorentina midfielder Carlos Sanchez.

The Irons have been one of the busiest Premier League sides in the window, and the Mirror reports that Lucas Perez is all set to become their latest signing, with a £4 million move from Arsenal looking set to be on the cards.

The Mirror suggests that Manuel Pellegrini is planning to make a move for Sanchez once Perez is through the London Stadium door. The 32-year-old last played in the Premier League two years ago, having spent two seasons on Aston Villa’s books before heading to Italy.

Sanchez has 88 caps for Colombia, but had an interesting World Cup as he was sent off in his country’s opening game and then gave away the penalty that allowed England to take the lead in their last 16 contest that the Three Lions would ultimately win.

Perhaps unsurprisingly therefore, it appears that many Hammers supporters feel that a move for Sanchez would take the gloss off of what has been a superb window for the club.

Some are confused as to why Pellegrini wants to sign the holding midfielder as they do not believe that he can make a great contribution to the side at this stage of his career, especially with someone like Declan Rice threatening to be a real star in that area of the field.
