Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing West Ham United striker Jordan Hugill.
According to The Sun, Leeds want the out-of-favour West Ham man on loan for the 2018-19 campaign.
Hugill cost the Irons a cool £10 million back in January after signing from Preston, but endured a disappointing first six months in East London.
The 26-year-old made only three Premier League appearances for West Ham last season – all from the bench – and he hardly endeared himself to new Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini yesterday.
The reported Leeds target played 45 minutes of the Londoners’ 3-2 defeat away to Swiss side FC Winterthur but, despite winning a penalty, Hugill looked very rusty and struggled for an impact.
Here is how West Ham supporters reacted to his performance:
Time will tell whether Leeds pursue the former Lilywhites man, but the West Yorkshire side certainly appear to have plenty of other reported targets.
Abel Hernandez, Matej Vydra and Britt Assombalonga have all been linked with a move to Elland Road also, but signing any two of those four would be a huge upgrade on United’s striking options as it is.
