West Ham United youngster Martin Samuelsen has left the Hammers on loan for the coming campaign.

A number of West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the news that the club confirmed on their official website that Martin Samuelsen has left the London Stadium to join VVV-Venlo on loan for the coming campaign.
The 21-year-old has been on the Hammers’ books since 2015 and appeared destined for an extremely bright future with the club, quickly making two appearances for the side in the Europa League.
Unfortunately for the Norway international, those two appearances remain his most recent outings for the senior side and he has spent the majority of his time on the Irons’ books out on loan.
Two spells at Peterborough United and one stint apiece with Blackburn Rovers and Burton Albion saw the midfielder highlight some of his potential and provide the West Ham fans with brief glimpses of his class. Some may have perhaps been expecting that Manuel Pellegrini may have a look at him this summer as he makes a raft of changes ahead of his first campaign at the helm.

However, the club have now confirmed that he has headed to Eredivisie for the coming season. And that prompted some discussion amongst the fans on Twitter, with many suggesting that the spell in The Netherlands could perhaps represent his final chance to force his way into the Hammers first-team.
Some are optimistic that he has the potential to prove himself during his latest loan spell, but there is undoubtedly a sense that it could be make or break for Samuelsen this season.

Here is what some of the West Ham fans were saying in the wake of the news that the youngster has left on loan…
