And they are clearly far from being done, with the club confirming on their official website on Saturday that they have signed the Paraguay international from Corinthians on a three-year deal. The fee is undisclosed, according to the club.
The news has been received extremely positively on social media. Balbuena is seen as a real leader and tough-tackling centre-back so Pellegrini will be hoping that he can provide some further steel to a defence that already looks significantly stronger than last season.
The fans are excited about the deal to sign the 26-year-old, believing that his arrival is the latest example of how the owners have learnt from the mistakes made in previous windows. Major changes have been made, and it appears that the board are backing the new boss all the way in the market.
