Some WBA fans deliver honest debut verdict on Arsenal loanee Maitland-Niles

West Brom fans were fairly upbeat about Arsenal loanee Ainsley Maitland-Niles after his debut for them on Sunday.

In terms of the result, it wasn’t what West Brom wanted, as the Arsenal loanee suffered a defeat in his first game against familiar North London rivals.

A selection of Albion supporters made it clear that they would like to see more of the versatile player.

Whilst others felt that the England international had some good moments, but it wasn’t enough for his relegation-threatened side.

In truth, Maitland-Niles has walked into a bit of a mess and a team that was heading down way before he walked through their doors.

Sam Allardyce is a survival expert and Maitland-Niles is one of the tools he has purchased in January to try and maintain his record of never being relegated.

Eleven points separate West Brom and 17th-placed Burnley, as the likes of Maitland-Niles will have to muster every bit of experience and talent they have to try and do the unthinkable.

If the inevitable does happen then Maitland-Niles should still look at this loan spell as a learning curve and one that allows him to earn regular game time.
