Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking the club with Watford winger Ismaila Sarr.
According to The Sunday Mirror (print edition, page 65, August 9, 2020), Tottenham are interested in signing Sarr from Watford, who will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
Sarr joined Watford from Rennes in the summer of 2019, and, according to WhoScored, made 22 starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League this past season, scoring five goals and providing four assists in the process.
Spurs do have quite a few wingers and/or attack-minded players in their squad, and it may not be easy for the Senegal international to go straight into head coach Jose Mourinho’s starting lineup.
Moreover, with The Sun reporting that Watford are looking for as much as £40 million as transfer fee for the 22-year-old, it may be too expensive for Spurs to sign the youngster.
