Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur’s chief scout was watching Everton at the weekend.

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are predicting a move for Andre Gomes of Everton, after Mauricio Pochettino’s comments.
He said: “He [HItchen] was in the Liverpool game against Everton and….I don’t know if he’s going to be happy, well it’s too late now.
“Be careful there is maybe a big surprise in January! It was for fun, for fun, he went to enjoy the entertainment, the experience.”
Although Pochettino did seem to be legitimate when he suggested that Hitchen was just watching for pleasure, some Spurs fans are more doubtful.
And there is a feeling around Tottenham that a move for Everton’s Gomes could now be on the cards.
Gomes is currently only on loan at Everton, and he is still contracted to Barcelona.
The midfielder appears to have no future at the Camp Nou, but he could cost big money in the summer.
Gomes is said to have an £89 million release clause at Barcelona (Liverpool Echo), and his performances in the Premier League to date are ensuring his value remains high.

Gomes has caught the eye at Everton, with Marco Silva already admitted that he wants to make the loan move permanent as quickly as possible.
Gomes almost signed for Tottenham in 2017, with Pochettino thought to be a big fan of the midfielder.
