Pressure is mounting on Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino after his side suffered a humiliating 7-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.

Initially taking the lead in the match, for a brief moment it looked like Spurs could be on their way to a famous European result, bringing back the spirit of last season’s campaign.

However, fans barely had time to celebrate before the Germans equalised though and from that moment there was only ever going to be one winner.

Five second half goals piled on the misery and ensured that what was seen as something of a Spurs blip at the start of this season devolved into full blown crisis.

Pochettino’s team haven’t looked the same as last season’s Champions League finalists since the summer restart, with poor results culminating in a dire League Cup exit to League Two side Colchester United last week.

Ten points behind league leaders Liverpool, in sixth place, some are questioning whether the Pochettino project has just simply ran out of steam.

That’s not to say he has completely lost the support. Plenty, for good reason, feel he is the best man to guide them through the current crisis.

Others though are beginning to fear the worst about his reign. Can he turn things around?
