Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to express their desire to see Marcelo Gallardo replace Nuno Espirito Santo in the dugout.
What’s the story?
Well, the pressure is well and truly on Nuno at Spurs right now.
A run of three Premier League defeats in a row, all by a 3-0 scoreline and all against London clubs, have soured the mood in N17.
As a result, supporters are scouring Europe to see who they’d like to replace the Portuguese coach, and it seems they’ve landed in Argentina.
Gallardo is currently in charge of River Plate, where he has won numerous pieces of silverware since his appointment in 2014.
The 45-year-old has won 12 trophies with the Argentine giants.
Would Marcelo Gallardo be a good fit for Tottenham?

In our view, this would be a fine appointment by Daniel Levy.
The South American has won 207 of his 386 games in management, which is a stunning record.
Interestingly, Gallardo has also been compared to Mauricio Pochettino, a man whose playing style captured the imagination of Tottenham fans.
During a Q&A, Football London‘s Alasdair Gold wrote: “Gallardo is certainly growing his reputation and some people believe he’s similar to Pochettino in style.”
In Gallardo’s 386 games a a manager, his side have scored 696 goals, so he’s clearly an attack minded manager who plays on the front foot.
Right now, that is exactly what the Tottenham fans want to see.

Having said that, the fanbase may have to wait a while before there’s any movement on the managerial front.
Nuno has just won the Manager of the Month award, and doesn’t seem to have found his best XI yet.
Even though the style of football is currently miserable, Levy has to give him a bit more time having only appointed him as recently as June.
For now, let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about Gallardo…
