Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld got fans talking after posting a video of himself gearing up for the new season.

A number of Tottenham fans took to Twitter to respond to Toby Alderweireld after the Belgian posted a video of himself on social media getting ready for the coming season with a series of drills.
The situation surrounding Alderweireld’s future has arguably become one of the sagas of the window thus far. According to Sky Sports, the centre-back has one year left on his contract with Spurs, but the club could take up an option in the deal that would allow them to extend the length of the contract by a further year. Doing so however, would allow another side to trigger a £25 million release clause next summer.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports adds that Manchester United are keen on Alderweireld, but are currently being put off by an asking price that is reportedly in excess of £50 million. The report suggested that the former Southampton ace signing a new deal with Tottenham currently looks unlikely – but so does a move away this summer as things stand right now.
With the window’s deadline swiftly approaching, it appears that there could be plenty of twists and turns still to come before it is decided which team Alderweireld will be playing for during the coming Premier League season.

And the 29-year-old has somewhat stoked the fire by posting a video on social media showing the defender working on his fitness with a number of drills.
With the Spurs fans still waiting for Alderweireld to return to Mauricio Pochettino’s ranks following Belgium’s run to third place at the World Cup, it appears that many supporters are trying to take as many clues as possible from the video posted.

There was a suggestion that the kit Alderweireld is wearing hints that he will be staying at Spurs, while it is also been noted that he has left off one of Tottenham’s main hashtags in the caption.
Here is what Alderweireld posted as well as some of the fan responses…
