
There were plenty of current and ex-Tottenham players on show last night as Belgium edged past Wales in a World Cup qualifier on Wednesday evening.
One of them was a certain Jan Vertonghen, who was lining up against his old partner in crime in Toby Alderweireld.
Remember the good old days, Tottenham fans?
This, of course, caught the eye of the Tottenham faithful, who would have also noticed a certain Gareth Bale trying to rip them up at the other end of the pitch.
And he did just that inside the first 10 minutes when he fed a brilliant through ball for Harry Wilson to open the scoring.
From then on, Belgium showcased why they are the best team in the land, as Spurs fans sat back and watched Vertonghen work his magic from the back.
Given Tottenham’s problems in defence this season, or problem full stop, it must make their supporters feel a little nostalgic watching the likes of Vertonghen and Co. in action because that used to be one hell of a team under Mauricio Pochettino.
Whilst Tottenham supporters watched one old pro in Vertonghen at one end, a youngster at the other end, Joe Rodon, will be hoping his popularity in North London reaches the same heights as the 33-year-old.
