Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are growing excited at the possibility of signing Dries Mertens.
Area Napoli reported on Friday that Tottenham have been offered Mertens by the 31-year-old’s representatives.
Spurs look almost certain to sign a plan-b option to Harry Kane this summer after Fernando Llorente proved to be no better than Vincent Janssen, in regards to being a back-up goalscorer.
The Napoli hitman, according to the Italian outlet, won’t leave the Partenopei for anything less than £44 million.

The Italian publication also claims that Chelsea – who are on the brink of hiring Maurizio Sarri as head coach – could be a threat to Tottenham, with the Belgium striker having played under the Italian at Stadio San Paolo.
But Spurs is arguably the more exciting project and few would be surprised if he chose Mauricio Pochettino’s side, providing he was indeed offered to the Lilywhites.
