It looks like Troy Parrott won’t be available for Tottenham Hotspur when the season resumes next month.
The Premier League campaign is getting back underway on June 17 following the hiatus due to the global health crisis.
But the young Spurs hitman won’t be available for selection for a while.
Tottenham released a statement this morning and revealed that the 18-year-old striker has undergone surgery to remove his appendix and therefore wouldn’t be back in training until late June.
Of course, that comes after Mourinho’s side will be back on the field and here’s how fans of the North London club reacted to the news on Twitter.
It must be noted that Parrott might not have made Mourinho’s squad even if he had been fit.
The Portuguese has repeatedly said that the young Irishman isn’t ready for senior football on a regular basis, having made just two Premier League appearances.
And with Harry Kane fighting fit again, Tottenham, who are eighth in the Premier League table and seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, don’t necessarily need Parrott anyway.
