Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente has found himself on West Ham United’s radar in the final hours of the transfer window.
A number of Tottenham fans have been reacting to the reports that have emerged from the Daily Mail suggesting that West Ham could be plotting a deadline day move for Fernando Llorente.
The Mail reports that Spurs are willing to offload the 33-year-old, who only joined Mauricio Pochettino’s ranks last summer after an excellent first year in the Premier League with Swansea City.
Llorente has scored just one league goal for Spurs, and the Mail reports that Tottenham will consider loaning out the Spaniard or selling him permanently. Their asking price for a permanent deal is said to be £7 million, according to the Mail.
And it appears that West Ham may be interested in offering the striker a fresh challenge in the final hours of the window. The Mail reports that Manuel Pellegrini is considering a bid to try and bring Llorente to the London Stadium as he looks to put the final touches to what has been a superb window for the club.
The reaction amongst the Spurs fans appears to be somewhat mixed. Interestingly after his disappointing season with Pochettino’s side, there are some who wish to see him stay this summer.
However, it appears that the majority are happy to see him leave Tottenham, and hope that his potential departure is going to tempt Daniel Levy into the market to try and get a new striker in. Spurs do not have the most depth up front anyway, so losing the Spaniard would surely persuade Tottenham to try and get their own new signing in.
