The Tottenham Hotspur academy product has completed a permanent move to Portsmouth.
Tottenham Hotspur may wish to reconsider the way in which they announce player departures on Twitter, after causing a stir among some of their fanbase on Wednesday.
Spurs are yet to make a single new signing during the summer transfer window, a scenario with which most of their followers should be familiar, albeit one that is exacerbated by this year’s early closure.
Beginning tweets with the words “we have reached agreement” is therefore somewhat ill advised, when the agreement you’ve reached is the sale of a fringe player – Anton Walkes – to a club in the lower leagues – Portsmouth.
And several Tottenham supporters were keen to let their club know about it.

Walkes, who only made one competitive appearance for Tottenham after graduating the club’s academy, spent the second half of last season on loan to Portsmouth, impressing in 12 outings for the League One side.
