Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Mauricio Pochettino spoke about his former side and Jose Mourinho on Sky Sports.

The Argentine was a guest on Monday Night Football, where he told Jamie Carragher and presenter David Jones that he hopes Mourinho can guide Spurs to titles during his time in charge.

Pochettino said: ‘I hope in the future it will be possible to win a trophy in the future with Jose because it would be amazing for the fans and this group of players, the majority of whom were with us.’

Despite being sacked from his post in north London by Daniel Levy, it is clear that the ex-Southampton boss still holds Tottenham close to his heart.

It would’ve been easy for Pochettino to be bitter about being replaced, given the impressive nature of his work with Spurs.

However, he has proven to be the exact opposite of bitter, showing his class in wishing good fortune on his successor and his former side.

Pochettino himself came very close to securing silverware for Tottenham, and in our view, trophies would’ve arrived if Levy had kept him on board.

The former Espanyol boss guided Spurs to the Champions League final, and also the League Cup final during his time in charge.

Pochettino also nearly won the Premier League title in the 2015/16 campaign, running Leicester close before losing ground during the final stretch.
