Tottenham Hotspur were eliminated from the UEFA Youth League today.

The North Londoners’ Under-19 side were dumped out of the competition following this afternoon’s 2-0 defeat by Porto in Portugal.

Spurs had occasional first-team player Oliver Skipp in the first XI but it wasn’t enough to move into the quarter-final stage.

Tottenham fell behind to a fine goal early in the second half, but Porto’s second has frustrated a few Lilywhites supporters.

A mistake from right-back Tj Eyoma gifted the hosts’ a killer goal, after the 19-year-old kept possession instead of trying to clear it.

Here’s how some fans reacted to the mistake:

News of the error will no doubt find its way to senior Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

It must be bitterly disappointing for Eyoma, because not only is it a mistake in a big game for the Under-19s, but Pochettino isn’t exactly flush with quality right-backs.

Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier’s seasons mean that the Argentine certainly needs a new one this summer and Eyoma has undoubtedly harmed his chances of advancing into the senior squad for next season.
