Tottenham struggled against 19th placed Bournemouth tonight. Spurs arguably were lucky to come away with a point having registered zero shots on target in the entire game.

The game could have turned out to be very different. Harry Kane seemed to have been pushed inside the box in the first half but the referee, and VAR, chose to ignore it.

Mourinho was visibly frustrated with the decision and refused to talk too much about it after the game. However, he did make a statement that baffled many Tottenham fans.

He told Sky Sports: “The performance was not good enough, but good enough to win. I am not saying a strong performance or a sharp one but good enough to win.”

That really is a strange statement to make after one of Spurs’ most underwhelming performances this year. Tottenham could have conceded on more than one occasion and at one five-minute phase of the game, they had 12% possession.

Spurs fans were clearly not pleased with the result but Mourinho’s comments increased that anger. Some fans already want the experienced Portuguese gone while others just straight up disagreed with him.
