Some Tottenham fans on Twitter are far from happy after it was reported by Football London that Paulo Gazzaniga could be on the move in the January transfer window.

The Argentine has seen himself slip down the pecking order at Spurs in recent times after the arrival of Joe Hart, and despite being put into the 25-man squad, it seems as though he’s now set to leave the north London club.

Understandably, this decision hasn’t gone down too well amongst the fanbase.

The goalkeeper is something of a cult hero at Tottenham due to the excellent job he has done whenever called upon, and fans don’t want to see him go.

Some supporters believe him to be better than Hart, while the fact that he’s a fair bit younger than the ex-England number one bodes well for him too.

However, we can understand why the club are looking to shift the former Southampton man.

Hart, Lloris and Gazzaniga are three quality stoppers, and Tottenham don’t need to be paying decent wages for three goalies, as it’s unlikely that they’re ever going to need to call upon whoever is deemed as third choice.

Hopefully, Gazzaniga gets a move that allows him to show off his talents, because he is too good to be sitting on the bench every week at Spurs.
