A number of Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to react to the announcement that the Black Cats confirmed on their official website on Wednesday that Jerome Sinclair has joined the club on a season-long loan deal.

Jack Ross has been incredibly busy this summer, with a number of new faces arriving at the Stadium of Light – including a new owner and manager – tasked with making sure that the club’s stay in the third tier is as brief as possible.

While there had been a number of exciting signings already, the Sunderland supporters would have been forgiven for being slightly concerned with the lack of additions up front – especially with a handful of strikers already leaving the club this summer.

However, the Black Cats have alleviated some of those concerns by announcing that they have signed the Watford youngster on loan for the coming campaign.

Many of the supporters are delighted to see a new striker arrive through the door, and most believe that he could prove to be an inspired addition. Though he is still awaiting his first league goal, the fact that he has played for the likes of Liverpool and the Hornets hints at how highly rated he is – and he is still young enough to improve significantly in the coming years.

There does appear to be some reserving judgement until they see Sinclair in action for the Black Cats, but most appear to be pleased that Ross’ striker options have been bolstered with new campaign edging closer.
