Celtic are looking for a new permanent manager, but could their search lead the Bhoys to Sunderland?

Some Sunderland fans fear the Mackems could lose Jack Ross to Celtic this summer.

Celtic are without a permanent manager after Brendan Rodgers’ departure to Leicester City this week, and have placed Neil Lennon in temporary charge for the rest of this season.

Whether or not Lennon is hired on a full-time basis is likely to depend on results over the next three months, and an external appointment remains a strong possibility.

Having impressed at both St Mirren and Sunderland in recent campaigns, it is plausible that Ross could feature on Celtic’s shortlist should the Bhoys decide to look elsewhere.

And this is what those of a Sunderland persuasion are saying on Twitter…

Ross was crowned both PFA Scotland and Scottish Championship manager of the year after leading St Mirren to the title last season, and has since taken Sunderland to third in League One with a game in hand after back-to-back relegations.

The 42-year-old has also managed Alloa Athletic after a coaching spell at Celtic’s Premiership rivals, Hearts.
