Tottenham Hotspur’s injury list got much worse on Thursday night.

Spurs dropped two points in a Europa Conference League draw away to Rennes – and they also dropped two more players.

Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura both came off injured in the 2-2 draw and their participation against Chelsea in tomorrow’s London derby in the north of the capital now looks in some doubt [The Athletic].

And some Tottenham fans want to see Bryan Gil given a full Premier League debut.

The 20-year-old winger has featured a bit in Europe but has only managed two minutes of top-flight English action since arriving from Sevilla in a deal that saw Erik Lamela move in the opposite direction.

It’s clear that Nuno Espirito Santo doesn’t believe the Spaniard is entirely ready for the Premier League yet.

But with Lucas, Bergwijn and Son Heung-min all potentially set to sit out the visit of Thomas Tuchel’s side, along with a spate of non-wingers, the Portuguese boss might find himself forced to unwrap the cotton wool a tad.

Here’s what some Lilywhites fans are saying on Twitter:

Champing

As far as full Premier League debuts go, facing the European champions is just about as tough as it could get for Gil.

That being said, if he is made of the right stuff to begin with then he’ll be champing at the bit to face the Blues and it’ll be fascinating to see if Nuno does indeed use him.

Thing is, he may not have much of a choice.
