Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have spotted what Pierluigi Gollini did after his penalty shootout heroics on Wednesday night.
Spurs beat Wolverhampton Wanderers in a shootout at Molineux to move into the fourth round of the EFL Cup.
Football London reported that Gollini dashed toward Tottenham’s dugout before the penalties in order to study the opposition’s habits from 12 yards on a tablet device.
And it seemed to work by virtue of the fact that the Atalanta loanee saved one of Wolves’ spot-kicks, after the tie finished 2-2 in regulation.
Straight after, Gollini, signed by Fabio Paratici this past summer, applauded the travelling Tottenham fans and gave his shirt and gloves to one supporter in the stands.
It was a classy gesture and here’s how some Lilywhites fans reacted on Twitter:
Lukewarm
It was a good night for Gollini but in general he has been a pretty lukewarm addition by Tottenham, it has to be said.
Then again, he was never signed to replace Hugo Lloris.
The Lilywhites only signed the Italian as cover for Lloris and from what we’ve seen so far, that’s all he’s going to be this season because, honestly, the France international is a better, more reliable keeper.
