Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to Kate Kane’s message to her husband ahead of England’s Euro 2020 final against Italy, as she told the Telegraph.
It has been a rollercoaster of a tournament for the Tottenham striker, who failed to score during the group stages, but he is now throwing the heavy punches during the knockout stages.
Nonetheless, this is the message Harry Kane’s wife sent via the Telegraph to her husband:
Kane has four goals from his last three matches, including ten overall in major tournaments for his country, which is joint-level with England’s highest, Gary Lineker.
If he bags one more in a few hours time, and many will be hoping he does, then he will become England’s highest ever goalscorer at major tournaments.
And what a place to do it for the 27-year-old Tottenham academy product.
Kane won the Golden Boot at the 2018 World Cup, he was the highest goalscorer and assist-maker in the Premier League last season and he could now win his first major trophy.
It would be fitting if a player of Kane’s calibre wins such a trophy because his career is crying out for one.
From an individual standpoint, he will more than likely break Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League record and Wayne Rooney’s all-time England record in years to come.
But both of those players won numerous domestic honours, something that has eluded Kane so far in his career.
And now one of the best number 9’s in the world has the chance to put that right.
