Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on Twitter to comments from Christian Eriksen’s agent, Martin Schoots, who has shared that the player ‘dreams of playing football again’.

The 29-year-old’s contract at Inter Milan was recently terminated by mutual agreement because Italian law forbids players to play with an implanted defibrillator device.

This comes after the playmaker suffered a cardiac arrest whilst playing for Denmark at the European Championships in the summer – he hasn’t played since.

Despite what Eriksen has had to go through since Euro 2020, he is in a ‘positive’ physical condition’, according to his agent speaking to the Daily Mail.

This has pleased the Spurs supporters and some have questioned whether they should bring him back to the club.

Eriksen worked under Antonio Conte at Inter, so not only does the player know the north London club very well, but the man who is now bossing proceedings at Hotspur Way.

Both Conte and Eriksen won the Serie A title in Inter colours last season and winning trophies is what Spurs fans have been dreaming of for a long time now.

What makes things even more interesting is that Spurs need a player of Eriksen’s ilk in their midfield and someone to compliment the hard-hitting duo of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp.

It has been nearly two years since Eriksen left north London and headed towards Italy.

And many supporters feel that they haven’t replaced the one-touch magician since his departure.

In truth, whoever does sign up the Denmark international, they don’t have much to lose because he is a free agent after all and there isn’t a transfer fee of any kind involved.

What is forbidding him from putting on the Inter colours again are the laws that are in place in that country, not his qualities.

It remains to be seen what happens with Eriksen during these coming weeks because all football supporters would just want to see him showcasing his talent out on the pitch once more.

And that at the highest level possible, but could it be a return to the Premier League for the long-distance shooter?
