Tottenham Hotspur prospect Dane Scarlett enhanced his reputation last night.
Spurs’ Under-23 side lost 3-2 to Chelsea in a Premier League 2 clash.
But despite the defeat, a number of Tottenham’s young lads still gave a very good account of themselves – and Scarlett was one of them.
The 16-year-old is the club’s youngest-ever player to make a senior appearance after his debut against Ludogorets in the Europa League recently, illustrating his talent.
Scarlett made it 2-0 on 17 minutes with a brilliant header past former Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech, following a majestic ball in from Harvey White.
Here’s how Spurs fans are reacting to his goal:
The hosts staged a brilliant second-half comeback after being 2-0 down by the break, but the game was more about testing Tottenham’s prospects and Scarlett and White – along with a host of others – came through it with flying colours.
It might be lost in the chaos after both sides had a player sent off – Danny Drinkwater and Alfie Devine – but Scarlett did score against one of the Premier League’s great goalkeepers in Cech.
And before long he might be scoring against active ones in that division.
