Tottenham Hotspur drew 2-2 with Barcelona before losing on penalties on Sunday morning.

Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season preparations continued on Sunday morning as they took on Barcelona in the International Champions Cup, drawing 2-2 before losing on penalties.
Spurs beat Roma 4-1 in the first game of their US tour, with Fernando Llorente and Lucas Moura both grabbing braces – but it proved to be a much sterner test against a young Barcelona side.
First half goals from Munir El Haddadi and new signing Arthur Melo had put Barcelona 2-0, with Ernesto Valverde’s side seemingly coasting towards victory in Pasadena.
However, Tottenham did hit back late on as Son Heung-min and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou struck to make it 2-2, sending the game to a penalty shootout.
Ex-Spurs target Malcom scored the winning penalty for Barca after Jasper Cillessen had saved Anthony Georgiou’s effort, handing Barca the victory.
He may have failed with his spot kick, but Georgiou showed real talent during his time on the pitch, even though he only came on as a 63rd minute substitute for Spurs.

The 21-year-old wide man – capable of playing at left back or left wing – has come up through the Spurs ranks, but has so far struggled to make an impact in the first team.
Spurs fans were impressed with his display against Barcelona though, suggesting that the Cyprus international was ‘electric’ during his time on the pitch, praising his impact whilst suggesting that he was ‘immense’ and ‘phenomenal’ before his penalty was saved.
