The Nuno Espirito Santo era at Tottenham Hotspur has got off to quite a tepid start, it has to be said.
Spurs fans were made to wait more than two months before finding out who was going to replace Jose Mourinho in North London.
And when it was confirmed to be Nuno, a lot of supporters were a tad underwhelmed.
It’s understandable when you consider that the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Erik Ten Hag and Antonio Conte were all reportedly very close to getting the job at various points during the search for Mourinho’s successor.
Tottenham had their first game under Nuno this afternoon and it finished with a 1-1 draw away to Leyton Orient.
Academy gem Dane Scarlett opened the scoring for the Lilywhites, who were ultimately pegged back in the second half.
The Portuguese coach aimed a fist pump in the direction of his coaching staff when Scarlett got off the mark.
