What a whirlwind week it’s been for Tottenham Hotspur fans.
It started off with major reports that Mauricio Pochettino was coming back to replace Jose Mourinho.
Then, The Guardian reported that actually it was going to be Antonio Conte.
And then the same publication claimed that no, it wasn’t going to be Conte anymore after talks broke down between him and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.
And then The Evening Standard claimed that Levy was now going back for Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain.
Seven weeks on from Mourinho’s departure and nobody has any clue who’s going to replace him – including Levy, which is worrying.
But some fans of the North London club have spotted a clue that it definitely won’t be Pochettino. Definitively.
Hijack
That’s because PSG are reportedly on the brink of signing Georginio Wijnaldum once his Liverpool contract expires.
And Fabrizio Romano has reported that Pochettino has played a role in this hijack being completed, after he was heading to Barcelona for most of the year.
The fact that the Argentine is actively playing a part in who the Ligue 1 club sign is a pretty big indication that he’ll be sticking around in the French capital.
At least, that’s what some Tottenham fans on Twitter are suggesting:
