Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have hijacked a tweet from Norwich City after a snub for Oliver Skipp on Saturday.
The 20-year-old Spurs academy gem is on loan with the Championship leaders and helped them to a 3-0 win yesterday.
But the Tottenham-owned midfielder was NOT among the four players nominated for Man of the Match.
Skipp has won the award on quite a few occasions this season and City boss Daniel Farke jovially suggested last month that fans of the North London club might be manipulating the vote every week.
Here’s how Lilywhites supporters reacted to finding out that the youngster wasn’t available to be voted for on Saturday.
As of last night, the tweet had 99 responses and the overwhelming majority were from Tottenham fans, but it isn’t a big deal.
If supporting and building up one of your own is a crime then those who follow the North London club are banged to rights, but it simply illustrates how popular he is with the fanbase and they’ll be desperate to see him in Jose Mourinho’s senior squad next term.
