The departing Sheffield Wednesday striker played for Southend at the start of his career.

Some Southend United fans think Gary Hooper could be on his way back to Roots Hall after leaving Sheffield Wednesday.
Hooper’s Sheffield Wednesday contract is not being renewed despite his recent return to fitness after 15 months out.
With a goal and an assist to his name in four starts, the 31-year-old’s departure has disappointed many Owls supporters.
And Wednesday’s lost could yet be another Championship side’s gain, with Aston Villa and Fulham touted as possible next destinations, along with his former employers Celtic (The Sun).
But after Hooper posted the following image on his Instagram story on Wednesday, the following of a Southend persuasion are expressing excitement over a potential return to their side.
Hooper only scored four goals in 41 games for Southend, but his career took off thereafter – the Essex native enjoying prolific spells at Scunthorpe United, Celtic and Sheffield Wednesday.
Southend narrowly avoided relegation to League Two this past campaign.

Could Gary Hooper really join Southend United after leaving Sheffield Wednesday?
